When Will You Receive Your EB-5 Visa?
In the recent few years, there has been an increase in the number of people who have chosen the EB-5 Visa program as their way of getting permanent in the United States. But if you are new or just applied in this program, you will be eager to know how much time does the EB 5 program takes?
The EB 5 program is based on business investment. In this, the foreign investors have to invest a minimum of 500,000 dollars in the US market and create jobs in exchange for permanent residency in U.S. The investment must create at least 10 jobs for American citizens.
At the end of the process, if all USCIS requirements are met, the applicant, the applicant’s spouse and their unmarried children who are under the age of 21 are given US EB 5 investment green card.
The first step of this EB-5 program is hiring an immigration lawyer. This is very important as he is the person who can guide the investor with all the applications that are required while applying for the EB-5 visa.
The attorney may provide you help on any topic but it is the sole decision of the investor on which EB 5 program they will be investing in. As there are hundreds and thousands of USCIS approved EB-5 programs, you need to research extensively.
After an EB-5 project is chosen, the immigration lawyer will aid the investor with their I-526 request and submit it to the USCIS for inspection. Moreover, the types of funds being spent are closely scrutinized. This may take up to 6 weeks for approval.
After getting the approval, the investor has to go through an interview with the U.S. consulate and a medical examination. At this point, usually, the investor and his/her family are given a conditional resident status. It means that they must enter the US at least once in 180 days after getting a conditional residence.
