For a long-term (20 years) Mac User it is very frustrating to be the only kid not to have visited the candy store. I think the next time I drop the current phone from a great height it will be its death-knell so a visit the the shiny Apple Store isn't far off.

You'll have to start dropping some hints for a new phone. Surely there's at least one significant day coming up that deserves a nice, shiny iPhone!

Pipped at the post by the Maven again! Great article Peter. The ability for agents to be actively present in their local community by becoming Mayor(s) of cafes etc and the benefits this will bring to their business are huge along with the other applications for listings you mentioned. Pete Cashmore from Mashable wrote a great Four Square article for CNN http://bit.ly/8O2S2O and I don't think he is far wrong.
I agree that is absolutely critical to have an Iphone and Google Android as the apps work seamlessly and CheckingIn from anything else is just painful - hence my small number of check-ins.

Wow Peter - how do you stay so much on the ball? I was in New York last week, and I'd say FourSquare was one of the best presentations there (I'd never heard of it before). I was wondering (apart from the fun of it) the real estate applications, but as the CEO spoke so it started to become clear and so powerful, and you've listed some great ideas in your post.

Some NY bars now give free drinks to the Mayors of their bar - as people then compete to become the Mayor, and to do that they need to checkin at the place most often - -clever! I'd say that this could become as (if not more) important for local businesses than twitter in time?
