I’m off to the REIWA Christmas cocktail party this evening. It’s usually lots of fun with plenty of alcohol and not much food – a recipe for some very sore heads in the morning. In previous years I’ve gone to these events for the party. But this year I want to generate some business or, at the very least, build my network. Here are a few ideas I’m running with.
First I’ll be handing out a stack of business cards that I hand prepared them for the event. They take the piss out of the ex-REIWA president a bit so they might cause a stir. I’m sure they’ll be remembered, which is the point of the exercise. I pinched this idea off Darrren Rowse.
I’ll be taking heaps of photos (Note to self: take spare batteries for the camera) and collecting lots of cards. The cards will allow me to send friend invites and the photos will be shared on Facebook or emailed with a thank you note. I’ve edited my profile to include this web address and opened my privacy settings so more people can see this information.
I plan to upload the photos to the TREMM Facebook page tomorrow. I’ve been holding off releasing it until I get a bit more content. Once that’s done I’ll invite my new agent friends to become a fan.
